Since 1966, K-Swiss has been a pioneer in tennis footwear. They were first to make an all-leather shoe when they introduced the K-Swiss Classic at Wimbledon in 1966, the same year they were founded. The innovation that made the Classic possible contniues today in the Defier series. While the company does not make a big splash in the advertising media, K-Swiss tennis shoes have consistently led the way in producing shoe lines that stand out from the crowd.
K-Swiss Defier miSOUL Tech
The K-Swiss Defier miSOUL Tech is a more heavily constructed shoe designed for those who need more cushioning from their shoe. Perhaps the most unique feature the shoe has is the interchangeable cushion insert. You have your choice of a white colored, lightweight insert labeled as 'Light 1.0' made of light k-EVA foam and a blue colored, more heavy insert made of si-18 gel labeled as 'Cushion 1.0'. This gives you the option of changing the inserts out the inserts as the situation and your preferences dictate. You may, for example, prefer the Light 1.0 insert when playing in a particularly tough tournament where you need more agility while using the heavier Cushion 1.0 insert when more fatigued, when practicing or whenever you play on a harder surface.
As many other K-Swiss tennis shoes do, the Defier miSOUL Tech also has an AOSTA 7.0 outsole that is wear resistant with more reinforced areas known as 'Drag zones' in the toe and heel areas. Its herringbone pattern delivers great traction for play on any surface.
K-Swiss Defier DS
The K-Swiss Defier DS, while an advanced shoe in terms of design, places much less emphasis on cushioning. It has the AOSTA 7.0 outsole with the drag zones that is guaranteed for six months. The cushioning system is much different with a light Superfoam cushion throughout the shoe and Shock Spring inserts in the forefoot and heel. An Active Cradle piece provides stability during lateral movement.
K-Swiss Defier RS
The K-Swiss Defier RS is an earlier generation model from the Defier series. It uses the TechTuff toe guard and AOSTA 7.0 outsole with herringbone pattern for play on all courts.
From K-Swiss's perspective, it's all about the shoe and less about the hype. As a leader in innovations for over 45 years you can have the confidence that the design came after a lot of thought was put into it, helping to make your tennis playing experience the best possible one.
