US Open Tournament 2009

Next to Wimbledon, The US Open Tennis Championship is the most important Grand Slam Event for touring Tennis pros. The US Open is played on decoturf surfaced courts in Flushing Meadow, New York. This year\’s tournament will begin on August 30th with play beginning on August 31st.

The US Open tournament has prize money equal to Wimbledon and draws 600 of the top professional tennis players in the world including Andy Roddick, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Jelena Jankovic, Dinara Safina, David Nalbandian, and James Blake.

US Open TV Schedule

The US Open TV schedule of play is listed online at http://www.usopen.org/2009_Schedule/TV_Schedule.aspx. TV coverage will be provided by ESPN2 and The Tennis Channel, and CBS will be picking up the championship rounds. Eurosport provides coverage in Europe.

Australian Open Coming Soon

The Australian Open is coming in late January. If you're not headed to Melbourne to see it live, you may be able to watch it on ESPN and TennisTV.
