The 2009 version of the HEAD Extreme Pro is very similar to the '08 version with the addition of Teflon friction reducing polymer to the grommets.

Head breaks new ground by injecting Teflon friction reducing polymer and provides the most innovative generation of grommets to date! This technology enables the strings to slide through the grommets with nearly no friction. The benefit? The friction reducing polymer dramatically reduces mechanical energy loss during ball impact and allows for greater string movement due to the low resistance, offering more power.

This very spin friendly racquet offers a solid feel thanks to its combination of weight and HEAD's MicroGel technology. At close to 12 ounces strung, the MicroGel Extreme Pro offers excellent stability at contact. This racquet has been designed for aggressive, competitive players with a long swing style. Extremely strong and light, this frame possess MicroGel technology for unique responsive qualities. MicroGel is a silicone-based material with the lowest density of any solid known. When combined with carbon composite fibers in the racquet head, MicroGel deforms and compresses upon ball impact, uniformly absorbing and distributing the impact load around the entire frame, creating a rock-solid feel.

The overall rounder shape and extra stability against twisting provide solid feel with superior touch.

Ideally suited for players with aggressive, long strokes. Recommended for the 5.0-7.0 NTRP level players.

Great racquet for doubles play! I am a 3.5 player that plays in a 5.0 league and I truly believe the weight of this racquet gives me a chance with hard shots from higher level players, in addition, the spin you can generate on serves with this racquet is remarkable. Everyone compliments me on my slice and topspin serves with this racquet.
