Yonex RDS 002
The Yonex RDS 002 Mid Plus is the latest player racquet offered from Yonex. Advanced players looking for a very maneuverable racquet offering a controlled level of power will find lots of playability from this racquet. The lightweight and open string pattern makes spin easy to generate and players don't need to be strong to develop plenty of racquet head speed. The RDS 002 falls in between the heavier RDS 001 and the 'tweener RDS 003, offering a nice compromise of the other 2 frames. The RDS 002 still provides control and predictability with a very traditional feel and in a standard length. Think of it as a lighter-weight version of the RDS 001. The RDS 002 Mid Plus plays as though it has a larger sweetspot than its 98 square inch headsize would suggest, feeling solid yet forgiving.
Ideally suited for players with aggressive, long strokes. Recommended for the 4.5-6.0 NTRP level players.
The RDS 002 also introduces the Aero Box Variframe concept, which provides a more aerodynamic cross section at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock points on the frame. Yonex claims a 10% improvement in air flow over the frame by reducing aerodynamic drag via this new Aero Box Variframe shape.
Isometric Technology: With more strings of equal length and a larger effective hitting area in the stringbed, the Isometric Square Head Shape provides consistently accurate shots, giving more power, control and more effective off-center hits.
Flew Control Shaft by Elastic Ti Technology: Elastic Ti delivers the performance players have long wanted in a frame - high elasticity and high strength together. Moulded into the shaft, the Elastic Ti shaft overcomes the limitations of conventional frame matericals. With its powerful rebound effect, a split second after impact and deflection, the Elastic Ti frame snaps back to its original shape with high accuracy and with the full energy of the swing.
Shockless Grommet Technology: The soft grommets are located at the 4 corners of the frame. These grommets are designed to reduce the shock from any off-center hits, widening the sweet spot even further.
Muscle Power Technology: Extra frame durability and reduced string vibration for a solid feel on impact are attained by "rounding-off the corners" with Muscle Power Technology. You will get up to 10% more spin and up to 7% more ball speed.

RATING:
5 of 5 Stars!
Was using Wilson H-Wave 100, 27.5 in., with lead tape, 16x20 string pattern (3.0 level at that time).
Needed to upgrade to players racquet (now 3.5 level).
When I first demoed, first couple things I noticed.
My swing speed seemed faster and groundstrokes felt like you could accurately place your shots.
My slices were improved.
Weight didn't seem to be an issue since you could swing faster and because of it's head light balance.
Thinner frame makes it feel like you'll frame less shots.
It took a while to get used to serves but I choked down on the handle and that seemed to be the trick.
Really feels comfortable to hit any shot due to generous sweet spot and more flexible frame.
Strung with Luxilon TIMO 1.22 @ 55 lbs.
