When I was a novice player taking lessons in college, my first racquet was actually a gift. Let me rephrase that; it was more of a hand-me-down. But hey, I thought it was so cool, my first tennis racquet. That was in 1998 and they have come a long way, even since then. I still have that ol’ thing and have used it as a benchmark when reviewing or shopping for others up until the latest and greatest left my little guy in the dust.

Finding a talented tennis player in the midst of so many average players is a challenge if you don't know what to look for. You will have to watch many tennis matches and tournaments to be able to see the minute differences between players at young ages. Junior tennis players always lack the polish that older players have, but that doesn't mean that some of them aren't on a higher plane than others. Studying the habits, tendencies, and abilities of certain players will enable you to figure out which players in the group will turn out to be the best.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 2012 Olympic Feat

France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga just won the longest match in Olympic history with a 6-3, 3-6, 25-23 win over Canadian Nilos Raonic. The 66 game match took three hours and 56 minutes, breaking the previous Olympic record of 48 games when Chilean Fernando Gonzalez defeated American Taylor Dent in Athens in 2004, 6-4, 2-6, 16-14 to win the bronze medal in men’s singles.
