I haven't used it a lot but it keeps your wrist in the L shape and its very hard to use at first but you learn how much you really use your wrist for power instead of your body and it makes you use your body instead. I'm still learning and wanted to develop the right way to hit the ball and I feel that this will help me in the long run.
