Wilson BLX Tennis Rackets

Wilson BLX tennis racquets are the result of an innovative concept that comes from volcanoes. Basalt is a rock formed from cooling lava. When fibers of this rock are combined with silicon dioxide particles, graphite fibers and carbon black fibers, the final product is a racquet that is light, strong and vibration resistant. Tennis is a sport known for repetitive motion injuries and reducing vibration over the course of hundreds of strokes reduces strain on the arm and elbow.
BLX Frame Technologies
Three frame technologies can be found in the Wilson BLX tennis racket series: Linear Geometry, FX and Triad.
Linear Geometry is an improved frame design of Wilson BLX with 35% more overall stability than a regular beam construction.
FX technology uses four shafts to create a structure that has 23% more torsional stability than a two shaft model. This is a huge benefit when shots are not right on the sweet spot.
The Triad is a three-piece racquet system where the hoop and handle are separate pieces combined with an IsoZorb buffer made from a proprietary polymer. It allows you to deliver a more powerful swing without absorbing the punishment that you dish out.
Grommet Technologies
Three grommet technologies can be found in Wilson BLX racquets: Classic, Double Hole and AGT. Classic grommets are a pretty simple design with 22% string movement. Double Hole grommets have 26% string movement for a bigger sweet spot. AGT stands for Articulated Grommet Technology and provides the most string movement with 76% for a maximum sweet spot.
Grip Concepts
The 1.6 Pro Hybrid grip of the Wilson BLX line has a leather base that maximizes sensation. A combination of comfort and sensation is in the cotton-based 1.8 Performance Hybrid. Maximal grip comfort comes in the 2.0 Comfort Hybrid, which uses an air foam base.
While Wilson BLX racquets exemplify advanced technology, they don't stop with the creative use of basalt fibers in the racquet. Much thought has been put into the frame, grommet and grip design as well. These technologies will be applied differently in racquets for novices than they would be for experts, but players of all levels should be able to find a Wilson BLX model that is a good fit.
