Tennis Posts

Tennis and pickleball posts play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining the proper height and tension of the net. These posts endure constant stress from fast-moving balls, weather exposure, and players pulling on the net, making their strength and design more important than ever. Do It Tennis offers both round and square posts for tennis and pickleball to suit various installation needs and preferences.

Posts are available with either external wind mechanisms, where the crank is mounted on the outside, or internal wind systems that house the mechanism inside the post for a more streamlined appearance. In addition to complete post systems, we offer bundled court packages that include posts, nets, sleeves, and accessories everything needed to set up a new court.

For existing court systems, we also carry a wide selection of replacement reels, cranks, and handles, as well as repair and accessory parts to keep your net system in top shape.

Choosing Between Round and Square Posts: Functionality Meets Aesthetics

Both tennis and pickleball posts are available in round and square designs, each offering distinct benefits depending on the installation environment and aesthetic preferences. Round posts are the most common and widely used, especially for standard tennis courts and most pickleball courts. They are compatible with a broader range of accessories like internal winders, lacing rods, and ground sleeves, and are easier to install since alignment within the sleeve isn't a concern. Square posts, on the other hand, are often chosen for their modern, clean-lined appearance and are preferred in high-end or custom installations such as schools, parks, or club facilities. A key advantage of square posts is their anti-rotation feature, which helps keep net hardware properly aligned over time. While round posts are typically more economical and traditional, square posts may be selected for their durability, upscale look, and added stability.

Internal vs. External Wind Mechanisms: Which Tensioning System is Right for You?

Tennis and pickleball posts are available with either internal or external wind mechanisms, each suited for different needs. Internal wind systems are built into the post for a cleaner, more polished appearance, making them popular for clubs, schools, and private courts where aesthetics and tamper resistance are important. Because the winding hardware is protected inside the post, internal systems are also less susceptible to weather-related wear. In contrast, external wind mechanisms are mounted on the outside of the post and offer greater accessibility for quick adjustments, easier maintenance, and lower overall cost. They are commonly used in recreational or budget-conscious installations where visibility and ease of use are prioritized over appearance.
