Professional Stringing For Optimum Court Performance
Tennis racquets that are not strung properly can hinder power and performance on the court. To ensure that your tennis racquets are swinging at their best, use professional stringing machine parts to keep your racquet in optimum condition.
What You Need To Know About Stringing Machine Parts
Anyone can learn to string a tennis racquet, even if you’re using a beginner tennis racquet. In fact, learning how to string your own racquet will encourage you to learn more about your playing style. You can use stringing machine parts to experiment with different string tensions, and find the racquet firmness that brings out your best performance.
To get started using stringing machines, here are 3 stringing machine parts that you need to familiarize yourself with.
The most important feature of a stringing machine string clamp is that it holds the strings securely, yet gently enough as to not put undo stress on the strings. A good string clamp will have a flat gripping surface to provide even pressure without denting. If a clamp dents a string, it creates a weak spot that often results in premature breakage of that string.
There are two types of string clamps: floating clamps and fixed clamps. Floating clamps aren’t attached to the stringing machine, whereas fixed clamps—provided by Gamma stringing machine parts and Prince stringing machine parts—are directly mounted onto the stringing machine. Fixed clamps hold tension in the strings more efficiently when stringing.
A major component to any stringing machine’s clamping system lies at the base of the mounting system, called the turntable. The strength of proper string clamping depends on the strength of the turntable. Any movement you get in the turntable will cause uneven string tension and distortion, so only use turntables that are solidly constructed.
Here at Do It Tennis, all of our stringing machines and tennis court equipment feature turntables constructed of state-of-the-art materials, and are recognized as some of the finest in the industry.
The 3 types of stringing machine tension pulling mechanisms are a drop weight, a manual winding spring tensioner, or an electric motor—and all need to be periodically calibrated. Do It Tennis offers a Prince Tension Calibrator that can ensure your strings are at the right tension. Calibrators are must-have tools for proper stringing machine maintenance.
