The Tourna Tennis String Cross prevents the main strings from shifting too much during play, which helps maintain consistent string spacing and improves control. This extends string life by reducing friction between strings and minimizes notching (where strings cut into each other), which delays string breakage.  Use of the Tourna String Cross also improves playability by making the strings more stable and can help keep your shots more predictable.

You snap the little plastic cross pieces between the main and cross strings. Usually, you insert them in the sweet spot area where you make contact most often. They are not meant to go on every single string intersection. You space them out—maybe every second or third intersection, depending on your preference.
