Babolat`s Dedication to Excellence: The Babolat Pure Drive
January 16th, 2012
The company, Babolat, began as a string company in 1875. It wasn`t until 1994 that they began making tennis racquets. With just 18 years of experience manufacturing tennis racquets, the brand has taken the tennis industry by storm with the Babolat Pure Drive.
In 2005, Babolat was the most popular brand of racquet used at the Australian Open, competing with top brands like Prince, Head, Wilson and others. Babolat tennis racquets are also used by tennis pros like Andy Roddick, Rafael Nadal, Li Na and many more.
Many of the Babolat Pure Drive racquets are made with an innovative technology known as Graphite Tungsten. Graphite Tungsten is a hybrid material with braided carbon fibers and tungsten filaments. The filaments are used at strategic points throughout the racquet, enhancing power and flexibility.
GT is not the only technology that Babolat uses in the Pure Drive line. The Babolat Pure Drive Roddick GT also uses Woofer technology, a Cortex System and an Elliptic geometry.
Woofer is Babolat’s original technology which promotes a synergy between the frame and the strings allowing the strings to sustain their energy, making for 10% more power than other racquets. Woofer also increases the sweetspot and provides for 25% more contact between the strings and the ball thus giving more control, feel and spin.
The Cortex System is an active technology, connecting the throat and the handle by an intersection in the CDS (Cortex Dampening System) material, which virtually eliminates unnecessary vibrations.
The Elliptic Geometry is Babolat`s design which works to promote torsion resistance providing for better maneuverability and more power.
Babolat began as a string company and evolved into a complete sports equipment brand name. With just 18 years of experience manufacturing tennis racquets, Babolat has proved extremely successful among all tennis players; pros and recreational players alike. The Babolat Pure Drive line is proof of their dedication to producing high-quality, game-enhancing tennis racquets.
